Our Rooms
Built in the 1850’s, Orchard House celebrates the history of this wonderful era. We honor the rich literary accomplishments of the New England transcendental authors, including Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. Looking abroad, we respect the artists of Europe, and their invaluable contributions to combined knowledge of painting and the evolution of technique. Finally, we pay tribute to one of the greatest American Poets, Walt Whitman.
Orchard House has been little altered for over 160 years. While we have updated certain areas of the house, we also have respected the strong history contained within our walls. We take pride in preserving the past of Orchard House while embracing the modern comforts and conveniences of 2011.
